MCU Study Abroad Program Options
Marymount Study Abroad Programs are developed through links between Marymount California University and overseas institutions around the world. MCU's Office of International Services -Study Abroad offer students a unique opportunity for immersion in another culture and country for a semester. Students can take intensive language programs or classes in English taught by local professors alongside local students, and fully integrate into the host university and culture.
- Marymount students who will be juniors or seniors during the term abroad, are in good academic and conduct standing and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 are eligible to participate.
- Transfer In students must earn 30 units at MCU prior to their semester abroad.
- Marymount offers destinations in London, Paris, Rome, Florence, Cyprus and Bremen.
- Housing is provided for each study abroad student, therefore students are NOT allowed to make their own housing arrangements.
Partner Programs
Marymount students participating on Partner Programs can utilize financial aid, including federal aid (except work-study) and state aid (such as CAL grants). Simply pay the regular Marymount California University comprehensive fees (tuition, housing and meal plan-as applicable) to MCU, and we handle the rest. At the present time, Marymount institutional scholarships do not follow the student on the study abroad experience.
All bills will be generated through the MCU Office of Student Accounts. A $300 study abroad fee is applied to the student's bill the semester before departure. Students remit payments directly to MCU.
Marymount California University Study Travel Courses
There are a variety of short term study abroad courses offered during the summer session that are Marymount sponsored and led by Marymount faculty and staff.
Costs of Study Travel Courses vary depending on number of course credits, location, length of course, the number of students participating, etc. Cost information will be published for each individual course. Payments are made directly to MCU.
